I used a new scooter for getting around Manhattan quickly called the Kick-Ped for the first time today. It really rides nice and the thicker wheels eliminate the problem of cracks and bumps that make riding smaller scooters difficult. It is a bit heavy, so that is the trade off. Also, it is hard to get it to go fast because of the weight but once you do, or if you are going downhill, be sure to step on the brake hard because it carries its momentum and does not slow down that quickly. Of course, controlling speed before you gain too much would be safer and preferred.
